Just Midnight…...just voices
We started off the year with a very prestigious booking at St George's Hall in Liverpool, where we were asked to sing as part of the entertainment for the Merchant Taylors' Annual Valentine Ball.
March saw us polishing two songs – ‘New Day’ and ‘There Will Never Be Another You’ in readiness for the Chester Competitive Festival of Performing Arts in April. We were delighted to win not only that class, but to be awarded overall winners of the choral competition! Naturally we felt compelled to celebrate in a local hostelry where, as can be seen in the photo below, we ended up singing to our trophies!
In May we took part in Chorlton Arts Festival in a combined event with ‘Crystal Chords’ and just two weeks later we were back in Chorlton having been booked to sing as part of the ‘Give Telly the Welly’ season.
At the end of September we were very pleased to be invited to sing at one of the Duke of Westminster’s residences (Eaton Hall, Chester). We were joined by other Chester festival winners and performed to a packed house.

At the end of October we welcomed back one of
our long standing members – Paul. He and his wife
moved to New Zealand two years ago, but
fortunately for us, they decided to come home
again!
In November we entertained members of the
Masonic guild in Liverpool and at the start of
December we returned to the Palm House to
join the Mostly Madrigals in a Christmas
concert in aid of the Roy Castle Lung
Foundation.

We rounded off the year in December by being
invited by another one of our members to sing
at a wedding.
Madeline’s daughter was getting married in the
Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and it was a delight
to sing for the guests as they arrived.
